A little over ten days ago I had cause to thank fans of Cerebral Uppercuts with Chima Amadi, for the support and acceptance of our little efforts at deepening public intellectual debates as they concern policy and national development while using cutting edge analysis to theoretically dissect issues and trends in the polity.
Our gratitude stemmed from the attainment of the ‘3000 likes mark’ on Facebook within the first two weeks of flag off.
Well, the Igbo proverb that “if you show gratitude to a great man for his previous achievement he reaches for greater heights ” can not be more trite than in the situation we now find ourselves in.
We have now exceeded the 6000 likes mark in under 5 weeks and are watching 7000 with our peripheral sight very closely.
As a show of gratitude, we went shopping for books today for you, our fans. What better way to celebrate than to read.
The lucky shop was the famous Waterstones Bookstore at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
I have carefully selected books from some of the best intellectual minds of this century; books that I know will appeal to the consciousness of many of our discerning country folks and fans.
These books pictured below, will be distributed to our readers at zero cost to them.
Seeing as there are not enough to go round, we will place a small hurdle for anyone that wishes to get one these best sellers. What to do to get one sent to you? Our next intervention, ” CORRUPTION IS A NIGERIAN ‘BORN AGAIN’, will be published on Saturday, 2 September,2017.
To get a copy of any of the books, readers are requested to make engaging comments after reading the piece on the comment section of our blog site , not the Facebook page.
Commenters with the best commentaries, as determined by our administrators will be contacted and a copy of the sampled books sent to them. There are 10 books up for grabs which means that we are looking out for the ten best commentaries. These comments which must take into consideration the article piece, devoid of any swear words, written in English, must be concise, logical and original (we have zero tolerance for plagiarism on our blog). Only the commentator with the best commentary will be allowed the opportunity of selecting any of the book titles he wants , the rest shall be determined through draws that will include the 9 other commentaries.
We hope that this gesture will spur us to quickly attain the 10,000 likes milestone in a very short time.
